Ajith has finally got the support of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. Thalai has been fighting a lone battle against industry bigwigs following his controversial February 6 speech.

Karunanidhi referred to Ajith as “Thumbai Poo”, (Lily) a flower known for its whiteness, and used as an acronym for good people in Tamil. Karunanidhi said some vested interests were trying to twist his words out of context and create a rift within the industry.


The CM also said Ajith visited him at his home and had clarified about his speech and in no way did the actor’s controversial speech show any disrespect towards him. He also requested the organizers of the function not to precipitate matters and to let things settle down.

Now with the CM openly supporting him, none of the film organizations would dare to take action or continue with their anti- Ajith tirade.

The audio of Ajith's Aasal was launched at 'Anna Illam'

The audio of Ajith's Aasal was launched at 'Anna Illam', house of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan. The audio was launched by Prabhu, one of the producers, and was received by Ajith.

Ajith was sporting a new look as he had taken off his Aasal moustache and came to the function along with wife Shalini.

The others present at the occasion were producers Ramkumar, director Saran, music director Bhardwaj, Dushyant and Vikram the producer's sons who were looking after the production.

Ajith said: "A good film needs no publicity. I don't want to talk about a film which is still under production.

Aasal has great title value, right from the title everything is god send. Believe me when I say I don't like narcissism in my films. Sameera, Bhavana, Suresh all have equal footing. As far as music is concerned it is the best so far."

Ajith's favourite is Engey Engey... sung by SPB. "Actually the song written by Vairamuthu is close to my heart as it reminded me of the stabs I had received on my back from one time friends in real life and in cinema. The song has lot of similarity to what happened to me in my life."

Ajith's forthcoming film Eagan pairing with Nayanthara

Eagan is the title for Ajith’s forthcoming film which will be directed by Raju Sundaram. It is a Sanskrit oriented word which means like ‘the one and only’ or ‘unique’ (i.e Aegam Sathyam…The Lord Shiva).

Bollywood sensation Katrina Kaif is pairing with Ajith. Eagan is produced by Ayngaran International, the film is a remake of Shahrukh Khan’s blockbuster Mein Hoon Na and the film’s second schedule will be shoot in Ooty and Nilgiris.
