About Kollywood Movie Allu Arjun, stars as Arya

Allu Arjun stars as Arya, an orphan who befriends Ajay (Navdeep). The two share a bizarre friendship but soon Ajay is adopted by a rich couple. Eventually the two grow up to be thick friends, although Ajay maintains his distance from Arya. Arya forces Ajay to give him a job in his firm and promises that he would always show exemplary behaviour. Geetha (Kajal) also joins the same company and both Arya and Ajay fall in love with her. The rest of the story is about how both of them try to express their love to Geetha and whom does she choose in the end.

This film is rated 3 out of 5.The film redefines the word ‘Style’! Allu Arjun is back with a totally new look and style. The entire story is woven around Arya’s character. Allu Arjun gets into the skin of the character so much that it’s difficult to understand his psyche. In this film ‘Arya’ is quirky, talkative and confused.

His dances moves are some of the bestin his career so far and it’s a treat to watch him in all the songs. Allu Arjun’s costumes are going to be a rage in the coming few days. Navdeep is adequate in his role. He plays the role of an insecure guy who’s always suspicious of his friend’s motives. Kajal is pretty good in her role as Geetha.

She looks extremely charming in first half, while her role takes a backseat in the second half. Mukesh Rishi, Sayaji Shinde andAjay played other important roles and they are good, especially Ajay-Allu Arjun’s episode is well written. Brahmanandam is hilarious in his role as Dr.Dasavatharam. Shraddha Das is alright in her glamorous role. Sukumar’s latest version of ‘Arya-2’ differs a lot from ‘Arya’; so much that it’s hard to instantly fall in love with this character who behaves sometimes like a psycho and at times totally confused.

The film is too long and hence there are too many dialogues especially for Allu Arjun which often tend to beat around the bush. Geetha, in this film is a suave, smart and an extremely confident lady. However, she never becomes a part of any of the conversations between Arya andAjay.

The transition of Geetha’s feelings towards Arya could have been portrayed in a better way. Another problem with the film is its flow and narration. Every individual scene is stunningly shot, however the story narration has its share of ups and downs. The climax ofthe film is too melodramatic and it could have been kept short.

One reason why the earlier film ‘Arya’ was an instant success was because of its simplicity. Moreover, Arya was a vulnerable guy who just wanted his love to be reciprocated. However, in Arya-2 a lot of things have changed. Now, Arya is not only greedy, but also will sacrifice anything if his friend wants the same.

This unconventional behavior rubs on to the audience and in the end it’s difficult to empathize or sympathize with him.The film has its share of brilliance, especially the scenes between Brahmanandam and his team, conversations between Allu Arjun and Navdeep and the entire episode involving Ajay.

The film is all about style. ‘Arya-2’ is the kind of film which you will either dazzle you or bore you to death, there’s no middle way. Either way we end up hallucinating under its influence!

Kamal Haasan & Mohan Lal in Unnai Pol Oruvan premeire shows are confirmed

Unnai Pol Oruvan premeire shows are confirmed in all major US cities at 8.30 pm Thursday night (Sep 17).

In Chennai, Kamal Hassan is not holding a premiere but had a show for close friends and technical crew of the film on Wednesday night at Four Frames theatre.

Those who've watched the closed-door preview of the film are unanimous that the film is a new, improved & balanced version of A Wednesday with fantastic performances by Kamal Haasan & Mohan Lal.

The stylish promos have already created a buzz around the film, and several distributors are confident that the film would embark on a flying start at the box-office.

Meanwhile the US distributor Jay Murugan says that all the digital and 35 mm prints have reached USA to 40 cities and they are all set for release this weekend with the mega premiere show. The response to online tickets in overwhelming and are being sold in super speed, typical of all Kamal Hasan's movie in United States.

At Last Kollywood Selvaraghavan film Aayirathil Oruvan comes end

It's been two years since director Selvaraghavan started his Aayirathil Oruvan. Now, finally, he held a press meet, along with producer R Ravendran of Dream Valley Films, at the Accord Metropolitan in Chennai.

Also present were music director G V Prakash, cameraman Ramji, editor Kola Bhaskar, choreographer Sivasankar, and actors Parthipan, Karthi and Andrea. ReemaSen was conspicuous by her absence.

"With Aayirathil Oruvan I have tried a new genre in Tamil cinema. It is a fantasy adventure, one of the most difficult genres to work on," said Selvaraghavan. "I was at ease while penning the script, but things were difficult when I stepped onto the floors. Filming with 2,000 junior artists from various regional backgrounds is the most risky thing that a filmmaker can go through."

The film was planned around a Rs 15-crore budget, but the final total could hit Rs 32 crore. According to cinematographer Ramji, each and every frame will be talked about.

"As soon I completed Paruthiveeran, I got a call from Selvaraghavan who wanted to make a romantic film with me," said Karthi. "But when he found the script cliched, he decided to do this unparalleled genre. It's a beautiful film that will entertain audience from every class. Kids will especially enjoy watching this extravaganza."

Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment’s joint production My Name Is Khan release is being postponed now to Feb, 2010.

If the strong buzz going around in the trade circles is to be believed, then Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment’s joint production My Name Is Khan might not release in Dec 2009, as it had earlier been scheduled.

Its release is being postponed now to Feb, 2010.

Sources tell us, “The on-going producers v/s multiplex stand off has thrown the scheduled releases dates of many a biggies off the hook. The nearly two and a half months that have been wasted due to the strike is likely to create a heavy rush of releases at the box office once the issue sorts out.

The makers of biggies have already begun plans to tread cautiously, if such circumstances arrive. It would mean hara-kiri to release big ticket films together, by letting their films cut into each other’s business. The reworking of release schedules of their films and pushing them ahead has already started taking place.

So, most of the earlier scheduled big ticket June releases are now coming either in July or in August. Similarly, those earlier planned for August will now be pushed ahead to Oct-Nov, what with the month of Ramzan starting in August, which generally sees no big release.

Karan Johar’s Rensil D’Silva directed and Saif-Kareena-Vivek Oberoi starrer Qurbaan has been planned for a November end release. With the heavy dates shuffling happening, there may be a change in release date for it as well, and might get pushed ahead by a week or two.

My Name Is Khan was originally scheduled as a mid December release, which was at least two weeks before Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots‘ release.

But with all this happening, it seems less likely that KJo and SRK would be able to squeeze-in their film in between Qurbaan and 3 Idiots which are releasing on December 25th. So perhaps, by taking a safer route, they must be intending to release it in early 2010.”

If this happens, then SRK won’t have any major release in 2009, and his only release would be Dulha Mil Gaya, which has him in an extended special appearance.

Kollywood film Subramamaniapuram is now being dubbed into Telugu in the name of Ananthapuram 1980

Tamil super hit movie, Subramamaniapuram is now being dubbed into Telugu. The movie was earlier scheduled to be remade but the producers felt that it is impossible to bring out the same effect. So they are dubbing it under the name Ananthapuram 1980.

The movie is a nostalgic drama with a revenge angle. Telugu heroine `Colors` Swathi played the lead role.

M Ranganath is producing the film under Simhapuri Talkies banner. Sasi Kumar has directed it. The movie is expected to release next month.
